Electrofishing

Electrofishing

Want to know what's below your pond's surface?

Typically, our relationship with our fisheries clients begins on our state of the art electrofishing boat. Electrofishing is an advanced scientific method of analyzing fish populations in freshwater lakes. While performing an electrofishing survey we collect a sample of the existing population. We weigh and measure each fish, evaluating total species abundance and the predator to prey balance. After data is collected, the fish are sampled and released unharmed into the lake. Over abundant or undesirable species will be removed during the survey. A water sample will be collected to analyze important water quality parameters, including Dissolved Oxygen, Alkalinity, pH, and Visibility. Physical characteristics of the lake will be assessed on site, such as fish habitat availability, aquatic vegetation issues, and spillway and standpipe integrity. The data is tabulated and we provide you with a custom lake management report with recommendations designed to meet your specific goals. This personalized fishery management plan will provide the recommendations to help you create your dream fishery.
